St. Joseph’s High School was established in 1964. It is run by the Congregation of the DAUGHTERS OF THE CROSS. St. Joseph’s High School is an English Medium Catholic Girls School, recognized by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. The school conducts the ICSE (Class 10) and ISC ( Class 12) Examination’s. We focus on the Holistic development of the child and believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals who are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.
With Christ, we desire to bring about the liberation of every person, especially the weak, the poor, the handicapped, the depressed and the rejects of the Society. Our mission keeps us at the service of the church and nation, while we work for the good of our students and always keep in mind a concern for the sufferings of humanity. We work for dignity of womanhood, striving to serve women by entering in to their suffering and working to free them from evil that may keep them from being fully human, fully alive as women today.
St. Joseph’s High School, Matigara aims at the education of the Catholic Community around, and extends its service to members of other communities. The School stands for academic excellence, development of skills and character formation based on the love of God, with a view to train students for all round development and become worthy citizens of India.
